KMC Begins Anti-Encroachment Drive in Saddar

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s anti-encroachment wing, backed by police escorts and district administration officers, initiated a comprehensive enforcement campaign in Saddar’s historic commercial belt early this morning.

Heavy machinery and municipal demolition squads cleared walkways, removed unauthorized roadside kiosks, and demolished illegal concrete extensions along Preedy Street, Abdullah Haroon Road, and Bohri Bazaar.

KMC officials stated that unregulated stalls and illegal commercial parking operators had virtually blocked pedestrian movement and crippled emergency vehicle access along Saddar’s busiest thoroughfares for months.

Traders and market associations were issued formal warnings earlier this week to voluntarily retreat within allotted building boundaries, with municipal authorities pledging that dedicated pedestrian zones will now be regularly patrolled to prevent re-encroachment.
